VOLUNTEERING: LITTER CLEANUPS
BLI is bringing attention to the litter problem in Israel with ready hands instead of the pointed finger.
We bring practical solutions to the table. Litter cleanups act as a form of street theatre and peaceful protest by demonstrating what it takes to have a beautiful land. Litter cleanups educate the public, create positivity around a highly negative and difficult topic/reality. Change the conversation from blaming municipalities to praising the effort to clean up Israel and championing the cause for a beautiful future for our children.
WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?
BLI mobilizes local and international volunteers to clean up litter in Israel.
LOCALS:
We continue to work with groups of all kinds and sizes in Israel. We have coordinated cleanups with Schools, Universities, the IDF, with magazine subscribers, and religious schools, Yeshiva's, Women's seminaries, and youth programs, spanning the religious and secular spectrum. Our aim is very simple, empower the next generation for a future and hope.
TOUR GROUPS:
We have heard from so many tour groups that they felt doing a litter clean-up with BLI was how they felt they were able to "Get off of the tour bus and put our hands to the Land!"
Israel is more than an educational or religious destination, the ancient story continues and you can be a part of it.
Tour groups have been the backbone of our volunteer base for years. More and more locals join all the time and new initiatives are springing up across the country! In 1-2 hours you can transform a beach, restore a street, and clear away a month's worth of litter.

THE BIN PROJECT:
The bin project is a BLI program
geared toward long-term solutions whereby the public can easily access trash bins where there is high traffic and little to no current infrastructure. Through the Bin project, individuals can donate a trash bin for the Sea of Galilee and the city of Tiberias. Organizations, businesses, foundations are already getting behind this project and transforming the shores of the Sea of Galilee and the city of Tiberias. The Bin Project will continue throughout the country.
THE ISRAEL TREE PROJECT:
BLI is committed to the regreening of Israel. We are partnering with lovers of Israel from all over the world to plant trees in Israel.
Trees can be donated:
1. To honor a loved one.
2. A symbolic memorial
3. To stand with Israel

THE BIN PROJECT by The BLI
Right now, the city of Tiberias and the beaches of the Sea of Galilee are constantly being overrun with litter. The BLI has been tirelessly countering the litter problem in Israel through large-scale volunteer cleanups. We know where the litter starts, and where it ends up. One of the largest contributors to the litter problem in Tiberias and its public beaches is simple: the extremely low count of public trash bins. The BLI has partnered with the Tiberias Municipality on this groundbreaking project called THE BIN PROJECT.
