Certificates of Participation for Local & International Volunteers
Volunteers from abroad must complete one full week in order to receive a certificate.
*Independent volunteers registering through The Beautiful Land Initiative who are willing to join us at the site by the beginning of the day only (meeting at the expedition camp), will care for their insurance and means of transportation.
A certificate of participation will be granted only for volunteers coming for at least one full week, Monday through Friday, or 5 or more days during the whole excavation.

Excavations T-shirts will be available for sale on-site.
Estimated Time Schedule
6:30 am Arrival at the site, collection of tools at expedition camp
6:45 am Dig starts
9:00-9:30 Breakfast at camp
9:30 Return to work
11:00-11:15 Tea break in the field
13:30-14:00 Pottery washing at camp
*Independent volunteers through The Beautiful Land Initiative arrive at the site along with the rest of the team at 6:30 am and will finish out the day at 14:00 according to the schedule.

Dr. Katia Cytryn-Silverman
Senior lecturer at both the Institute of Archaeology and the Department of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, teaching undergraduate and graduate studies. Dr. Katia directs the excavations at Tiberias at the Sea of Galilee since 2009.
Dr. Katia Cytryn-Silverman

Dr. Katja Soennecken
Katja Soennecken (born 1982) studied Classical Archaeology, Protestant Theology and Jewish Studies in Heidelberg, Berlin, Edinburgh, Münster and Wuppertal and majored in Biblical Archeology on the subject of “Cultural upheavals in the southern Levant. The Transition from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age with Special Consideration of the Tall Zirāʿa.”
